Barriers to Fish Passage

cbec provided an engineering assessment of four weir dams on the River Don and a tributary of the River Allan. Each structure was assessed for ease and safety of fish passage and other impacts via a combination of high resolution topographic surveys, detailed expert field assessment and through extensive research on existing data. We also developed outline restoration and enhancement concepts for the sustainable and cost effective improvement of fish passage, river processes and wider ecology.
